Who are you?
I'm Scott, and I've been learning Ukrainian since January 1st, 2025. I'm a native English speaker from Canada with Ukrainian heritage.
Who is Looping Ukrainian for?
Looping Ukrainian is for learners like myself who want a reliable way to develop practical ability in the language. As part of a comprehensive study routine, looping bridges the gap between knowing the language and using it.

Is Looping Ukrainian appropriate for beginners?
Looping Ukrainian is designed for learners who have at least a basic grasp of the language. However, it's still accessible relatively early — the only real prerequisite is that you know the alphabet.

Why learn from a non-native speaker?
As a native English speaker with no prior background in Ukrainian, I've had to build my understanding of the language from the ground up. That means I know where other learners are likely to struggle and can explain concepts and ideas in terms that are more relatable. As with most things, you don't need to learn from an expert — just someone a few steps ahead.
Do you use "AI" (LLMs)?
Yes, but only to support my own studies, and even then not very often. I don't use LLMs to generate the material on this site; everything is deliberately written by me. Looping Ukrainian exists because I want to strengthen my own Ukrainian, not outsource it.

How does the paid subscription work?
Progress in language learning comes from consistent work — learning vocabulary, studying grammar, and practicing putting it all together. Looping Ukrainian helps connect all of this in a way that a single resource can't.
The paid subscription gives you weekly material so you can concentrate on doing the work, and the looping method keeps you focused on what you need to improve most. Shared conversations based on the material provide you with regular opportunities to apply what you're learning, turning what you know about the language into the ability to use it.
How much does the paid subscription cost?
The paid subscription costs $144 CAD per year.
Learning a language is a long-term commitment where results compound over years of consistent study and use. Looping Ukrainian offers an affordable annual membership aligned with that approach. There is no monthly option.
Once you become a member, your subscription will automatically renew at the full rate (even if you joined at a discount), and you'll receive an email reminder seven days before your renewal date.
How do cancellations work?
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations aren't prorated, and you'll retain full access to Looping Ukrainian for the period you've already paid for. Once your current billing cycle ends, your membership will automatically stop and you won't be charged again.
