Who are you?
I'm Scott, and I've been learning Ukrainian since January 1st, 2025. I'm a native English speaker from Canada with Ukrainian heritage.
Who is Looping Ukrainian for?
Looping Ukrainian is for independent learners like myself who need a reliable way to develop fluency in the language. It's designed to help bridge the gap between knowing the language and using it.
What does Looping Ukrainian offer?
Looping Ukrainian offers weekly material, a flexible method, and a shared space to develop fluency naturally. It also offers a comprehensive wiki that brings together everything I've learned about the language. That way, you can easily find the vocabulary, grammar, and explanations you need as you keep improving.

Is Looping Ukrainian appropriate for beginners?
Looping Ukrainian is for learners who have at least a basic grasp of the language. However, the only real prerequisite is that you know the alphabet. Watch me work through the material here to see how you can start looping effectively even as a beginner.
Why learn from a non-native speaker?
As a native English speaker with no prior background in Ukrainian, I've had to build my understanding of the language from the ground up. That means I know where other learners are likely to struggle and can explain concepts and ideas in terms that are more relatable. As with most things, you don't always need to learn from an expert — just someone a few steps ahead.
Do you use "AI" (LLMs)?
Yes, but only to support my own studies. I don't use LLMs to generate the material on this site; everything is deliberately written by me. Looping Ukrainian exists because I want to strengthen my own Ukrainian, not outsource it.

I need some extra help, can I work with you directly?
Yes, you can! I offer one-on-one meetings to all members. This isn't meant to replace formal lessons or working with a native Ukrainian tutor, but to make sure you're able to use Looping Ukrainian effectively and make the most out of your membership.

Why become a member of Looping Ukrainian?
Learning Ukrainian is a long-term commitment, where results compound over years of consistent effort. For most learners, the process is self-directed but not always clear. Looping Ukrainian exists to give that process direction, providing you with material, a method, a space to practice, and tools to keep you moving forward. The membership gives you access to all of that and an engaged community that's in it for the long haul, just like you.
How much does the membership cost?
Looping Ukrainian's membership costs $480 CAD per year. The membership is annual, so you'll never feel like you have to rush through the material or feel behind because you had a slower week. It renews automatically and you'll receive an email reminder seven days before the renewal date.
How do cancellations work?
You can cancel your membership at any time. Cancellations are not prorated, and you'll retain full access to Looping Ukrainian for the period you've already paid for. Once your current billing cycle ends, your membership will automatically stop and you won't be charged again.
